Mixing it Up with YouSeeU

Mixing it Up with YouSeeU

Have you ever been in a course where you’ve been asked to team up with a few random people for a group project? Most likely, you chose the people you sat next to and had become somewhat familiar with since the semester started. As you got to know those same people, you probably chose to work with them again rather than choosing complete strangers with whom to team-up. But ideally a student’s take-away from any course includes the perspectives from a variety of individuals as well as the benefit of learning to successfully work with unique personality types.

For instructors using YouSeeU, the option to create random groups for peer-reviewed assignments or group video activities allows for students to work with and learn from a larger sample size of academic colleagues. These peer interactions create a fun environment for career networking as students prepare to apply their skills in real-life work scenarios. Marion Philadelphia and Pete Cardon from the USC Marshall School of Business describe their own experiences with students mixing-it-up in a Communication course.
